Bed Bug Treatment

Bed Bug Treatment and Prevention Specialists for Kent and the South East

A common pest once associated with unhygienic surroundings, is now prevalent due to an increase in international travel. Bed bugs occur with regularity, particularly in buildings of multi-occupancy with a high resident turnover, for example, hotels, hostels and holiday camps. The early signs of a bed bug infestation (nymphs) are hard to detect with the naked eye, making it extremely hard to identify an infestation before biting starts to occur.

Adult bed bugs resemble small brown discs, around the size of a match head. Wingless insects, their legs are well developed and it can crawl up most vertical surfaces, such as bed legs. They lay their elongated eggs in cracks and crevices close to their hosts, which for bed bugs are humans.

Young bed bugs look the same as the adult bugs and they grow by moulting. Each nymphal stage needs one full meal of blood before it moves to the next stage. Fully-grown bed bugs can survive without a meal for up to a year in some cases.
