COVID Lockdown - Pest Service Update | Monitor Pest Control

Further to the Prime Minister’s announcement on Monday 4/1/2021, we can reassure you that Monitor Pest Control is here to help throughout this lockdown.

If your business or organisation is suffering from a pest infestation, our professional technicians are still here to help by providing contact-free pest control support during this difficult time. We will continue to operate services for all pests* throughout Kent, London, and the South East, and are on hand to offer guidance and advice as usual, through our social media channels and via email.

Confirmed Guidance for Business Continuity

Our position in continuing to provide this vital public health service is fully supported by the Government and the British Pest Control Association. Government guidance has stated that tradespeople are still permitted to enter homes and businesses, with pest professionals recognised as providing an essential public health service. Our team are also considered critical workers due to our protection of ‘food and other necessary goods’ by the UK government (confirmed by Defra on 13 May 2020).

Keeping Your Site Protected and Pest-Free

Although our existing COVID protection measures are very robust, we will be reviewing these measures on a weekly basis to ensure the safety of our customers, staff, and the public. Our technicians have been thoroughly briefed on how to operate on your site whilst adhering to strict hygiene and social distancing requirements, keeping your business protected and pest-free.

How Can We Help?

We continue to operate the following amended service to meet your pest control needs during this unprecedented time.

Housing and Local Authority Sector

Our service for all pests (excluding bedbugs) for the Housing and Local Authorities sector will continue as normal, including pest prevention and bird-proofing. Due to the current circumstances our response times are slower than usual, but we aim to efficiently resolve your pest problems professionally and with your safety in mind.

It is of the utmost importance that customers and residents keep a safe distance from technicians whilst they complete work on site. If maintaining a safe distance is not possible, our team will be unable to operate safely and the job will be cancelled. If you have an upcoming job booked and believe that appropriate distancing will not be possible, please get in touch with us immediately.

Food Production Sector

For clients within the food processing sector including factories and warehouses, Monitor Pest Control will endeavour to offer scheduled visits where safe hygiene and distancing measures can be achieved.

We will also attend to emergency call outs, defined as “an active infestation inside a food production facility”. If you are experiencing an active infestation, call 01474 358855 or complete our contact form and a member of our team will be in touch as soon as possible.

We will also attend external areas of food production sites if required. These visits are assessed as low risk as our technician will be able to maintain a safe distance from any individual on site due to the outdoor location.

Other Client Categories

Callouts for any other client categories including care homes, retail or education will be risk assessed on their merits and serviced on an emergency or low risk basis with regard to risks to technicians, customers and the public. This will be based on current Government and BPCA guidance. We aim to help businesses and organisations whenever possible during this challenging time, so please do not hesitate to reach out if you require assistance.

Get in Touch

We are currently operating a skeleton team and are working hard to efficiently manage your queries. If you have a query or require assistance, please call us on 01474 358855, or complete our contact form. We are doing our best during these unprecedented times, so it may take us slightly longer to answer your phone call, but answer it we will.

We thank you all for your continued patience and support.
