We're supporting Barn Owl Conservation!
We’re thrilled to announce we’re supporting Barn Owl conservation through Kent Wildlife Trust’s ‘Adopt a Species’ campaign.
‘Adopt a Species’ was launched by Kent Wildlife Trust before Christmas, to raise vital funds to help with the conservation of Highland Cattle, Grey Seals and Barn Owls. With a deep-rooted commitment to providing environmentally-responsible pest control services, and as corporate members of the Trust, we were delighted to get involved.
Gary Howard, Managing Director at Monitor, said: “Barn Owl numbers have severely plummeted across the UK in the past 70 years, a situation which has been exacerbated by the use of rodenticides, which caused many owls to be secondarily poisoned by their prey. Thanks to the Campaign for Responsible Rodenticide Use (CRRU), the use of rodenticides has been restricted, which means that pest controllers, game keepers and farmers now have to consider the wildlife that shares our environment, and minimise the potential damage that accidental rodenticide exposure can cause species such as Barn Owls, Kestrels and Red Kites.”
“Supporting the conservation of Barn Owls fits well with our commitment to CRRU, which has played an important role in making professional pest control more about environmental stewardship, as opposed to just the extermination of pests.”
